THE GRUESOME TWOSOME

The Gruesome Twosome started as a visit to Crammed Discs labelmate Samy Birnbach, who up to that point was mostly known for being the singer of 80's new wave outfit Minimal Compact.

Samy was a passionate record collector, and as he showed me his collection and played some really obscure and inspiring records, we decided to meet up in the studio and do some sampling.

This ended up as the backbone for the song Hallucination Generation, which he went on and wrote the lyrics and laid down a vocal track for.

The song was released through SSR/Crammed Discs in Europe and licensed to Nettwerk Records in the US, and made it to the top 10 dance chart in Billboard Magazine.
