MAN WITH A MOVIE CAMERA

In 1996 the Tromsø International Film Festival commissioned me and Geir Jenssen AKA Biosphere to compose music for Dziga Vertov's 1929 film Man with a Movie Camera for a live performance at the festival.

Even if we've been friends since childhood, we hadn't collaborated musically since I programmed some rhythms on his E-Man cassette release back in 1984, apart from the live collab Dawn at Vara in 1994.

We decided to split the film in different sequences between us rather than mash up our different musical expressions, and ended up touring with the film in Norway and Europe in the years that followed.

Geir released his material from the film as a bonus disc on his Substrata 2 album, and I released my parts through Love OD Comminications (buy at link below).
