ILLUMINATION/CHILLUMINATI

I met Nicholas Sillitoe in Per Eirik Johansen's (see BOLS) office in Oslo in 1994, and immediately connected on music, dark humour and a shared social codex. Nick was still living in London at the time, but had decided to move to Oslo later in the year.

When he moved over, we agreed to team up in my studio, and soon discovered that we worked pretty well together, and presented the result in the shape of the track Satellite.

The co-op resulted in a string of singles and the albums "This is Illumination" and "The Poppy Rocks", and we also did remixes together under the moniker Chilluminati in the years that followed.

In the early 2000's we were asked to do a dj-tour around the world as ambassadors for the compilation series Café del Mar, after founder José Padilla had left the project.

When I moved back north in the late 2000's and Nick moved down south to Kristiansand, we never actually split working together, but our new realities made it difficult to go on.

But there has been continuous talks about finding the right place and time to team up over a mixing desk at some point, so who knows what the future holds...
